EFT and Writer’s Block
Sometimes the words just flow. It comes out clear, concice, brilliant effortlessly. Today, its pulling teeth, drawing blood, exhausting. After one sentence I need a break and a cookie. This is a phenomenon so common it has a name: Writer’s block. If you have writer’s block start with doing a scan of your life for big stressers. When you are stressed you system doesn’t feel safe to sit and be creative. On the other hand if you write for work, have a deadline to work within you may not have time to sit and clear every obstacle with EFT. This is how I start:
- There is so much on my mind.
- I have so many things to worry about.
- I have to solve them all now.
- I am so distracted by my emotions.
- Paniced
- Anxious
- All of this stress.
Now, you may find that there is one thing that isn’t going to let go until you give it your full attention. This kind of general tapping is a short term solution to take the edge of distracting stress but if there is one thing that really sends you off. Take the time to clear it with EFT. You will save yourself from struggle in the long run.
Next clear you emotions about the writer’s block
- Even though I am angry I don’t know what to say.
- This is frustrating
- This should be easy
- I should have started this a long time ago.
- I am wasting time.
Another area to look if you have writers block is, what consequences are there for being able to write easily. Here is what they were for me.
- If I start then I will have to finish and I don’t have time.
- If I write this people will read it.
- What will they think?
- It is going to disappointing.
- What I have to say doesn’t matter.
- What I am writing about doesn’t matter
When you feel like you have cleared the underlying emotions around it. You can tap on the symptons. This helps you mind catch up with your energy.
- Can’t think
- Unclear
- No inspiration
- bored
- distracted
And of course as always complete with affirmations:
- Writing is fun and easy for me.
- The words are flowing out.
- I know what I want to say and how to say it.
- This is exciting
- My writing is brilliant
- The words are flowing through me.

EFT for Fibromyalgia
I was rummaging through the EFT website and found this article. Shortly and sweetly it demonstrates once again how quickly and thoroughly EFT can work through physical and emotional issues. A trauma that took years to manifest into a physical pain can be disappeared carrying the pain with it, all in a few minutes.
In this case the trigger trauma was the first one identified. Sometimes the original trauma is unknown or the physical issue was a product of many different negative experiences, beliefs and emotions. The great thing about EFT is that you can always start where you are. You can start by working purely with the symptoms and the emotional aspect of the symptoms. This often leads to the underlying cause. Here is an example:
The patient has neck pain.
- This neck pain
- This soreness
- Feeling stiff
- Feeling stuck
- I can’t move
- Trapped
From there you can look for other times in you life that you felt trapped or stuck. As you listen to your current physical and emotional signals they lead you to the source of the emotion.

EFT for Alergies
It is spring and my head hurts, my nose is stuffy, I have a tickle in my throat and I generally fell low, all the worse as soon as I go outside. Here are some things to tap on when you have allergies:
You can start with tapping just on the symptoms. This will give you a little boost and make it easier to tap on the other stuff.
- This headache
- Stuffy
- Exhausted
Side dish emotions!
- Its going to get worse.
- I hate alergies
- I feel weak.
Sometimes it is really helpful when dealing with physical issues to tap like you are your body. These are not emotions that I am feeling but I am imagining that this is going on for my body. Here are some example phrases for my body.
- Feel under attack.
- Feel invaded.
- I don’t know how to process this.
- I feel overwhelmed.
- My defenses are down.
- I have lost the battle
As I am getting in touch with my bodies experience I am noticing some thing new. Like a voice coming up shouting ” hey what about all that sugar you’ve been eating!”.
- sugar
- I have had to deal with too much sugar!
- sugar overdose.
I feel a lot better. My headache is gone. I am still stuffy. I can see that there are deeper issues around having depleted energy. I think next I will tap on stress and some specific energy drainers.
Prepping Your Intuition with EFT
I have been reading Laura Days “Practical Intuition”. It is a great book full of exercises and tips. She also points out a few obstacles, the main one being attachment. On this one point she doesn’t have much to offer, she probably doesn’t know EFT. As an EFTer I read this as Too Much Emotion! It gets in the way making, you listen to your feelings more than your intuition. Gary Craig addresses this as well as he says “get yourself out of the way”. Below are some examples of how to tap your intuition free.
- I am anxious to know the answer.
- I want to know right now.
- I hope the answer is … (fill in the blank)
- I need to know, or else … (fill in the blank)
- I don’t want to know.
- I don’t want the answer because…( fill in the blank)
You can also clear your fear of specific information by pretending you know it one way and then the other.
Example:
-I know I am not going to meet my soul mate this year.
-I know I am going to meet my soul mate this year.
Being okay with all possible outcomes allows the accurate information to be heard.
Another emotional obstacle is being afraid of trusting your intuition. Try these reminder phrases to clear your fear.
- I am not intuitive.
- I don’t know the answer.
- I am just guessing.
- I can’t trust my gut.
- My intuition doesn’t make sense
- I am afraid I am right.
- I am afraid I can access all the information.
- My intuition has been wrong in the past.
- I feel foolish believing in intuition.
- Other people can do it but I can’t
EFT and intuition have a beautiful cycle do EFT to strengthening your intuition and use your intuition to guide your EFT!

Growing up Too Fast.
I am headed into a life that seems way too big for me. Doing wellness packages for huge corporations, writing a book, traveling the world, owning property, getting married is all happening now. I am growing like a weed and its a little scary. These are some of the fears that are coming up for me.
- I’m not as great as they think I am.
- I’m not as great as I think I am.
- I’m going to look like a fool when I fail at everything I am shooting for.
- I am not responsible enough for this kind of life.
- I don’t want to be responsible.
- This is more than I can handle.
- None of it is actually going to happen. It can’t!
- What if I am only going to want more?!
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.” Marrianne Williamson. In her honor I am also tapping on my fear of greatness!
- Who will I be if I accomplish all of this and more?!
- What if my book is a bestseller?
- What if companies around the world seek me out to support their employees?
- What if most beautiful marriage and the most satisfying career?
- What if I can travel and have a flourishing home?
- What if all of my success brings me closer to my friends and family?
- What if all of my success brings me closer to God?
Empowering questions like those, are really great tools. Like affirmations, they invite you into a new way of being as you clear any resistances to the positivity.
Birth Trauma Release

From the moment of conception to the time we are weened our whole being is absorbing everything around us for nourishment. Even if our environment is unhealthy we absorb it as if it was food. What we take in during this time becomes imprinted in our limbic system as love, nurishment, and safety.
If during this time we have the experience of pain, rejection, hunger, stress then we establish these things as essential to our survival. We recreate these scenarios in our life again and again.
Most of us have some sort of birth trauma. Given our culture most parents don’t have as much support as they need to take care of themselves and a new baby. Even people with the best parents can have birth traumas.
Some things that could cause Birth Trauma include:
* Being an accidental pregnancy
* Mom or Dad being sick or unhappy during pregnancy/ birth or breastfeeding
* Mom or Dad being in a stressful environment during pregnancy/ birth or breastfeeding
* Hospital birth
* Cesarean section
* Being Adopted
* Sibling jealousy/ abuse
* Being weened
* Not being held enough
* … and there are many more
Clearing these traumas with EFT is a renewing experience. Many people find that issues they have had their whole life dissolve, patterns of negativity end and they are finally free to give themselves what they need. When you have love and acceptance as your first experience of life this sets the standard for what you attract and create from then on.

But How?!!!
So much has changed around my indecision. At first I was confused, I couldn’t even see my choices clearly. Then I felt trapped all of my options were lousy or impossible. What I am left with now is: Okay, MAYBE its possible for me to make the best choice for myself. And MAYBE its possible for me to have nature, and work, stability and adventure, financial success and deep exploration, but HOW?
Sometimes after clearing so thouroghly a clear route shows up immediately but sometimes not. The question but how. And the futile planning that sometimes comes with it do not bring the clarity of mind that I am seeking. I am going to start by clearing my anxiety of not knowing what move to make.
- I don’t know what to do.
- How is it going to work out?
- When is it going to work out?
- What should I be doing to forward my dreams?
- If I don’t do something nothing is going to change!
You might notice that when I am doing EFT with myself most of what I say is negative thoughts rather than emotions. I do this because saying those statements really triggers the emotion for me. I do the same thing with my clients. Using phrases like this makes it easy to be specific. If I tap on my fear about my future it isn’t nearly as specific as the fear that arises when I say “nothing is going to change”! On that note…
- I’m going to be stuck in the city forever.
- Leaving New York is hard. Leaving Hawaii is hard.
I hearing myself clinging to the idea that I have to do it. I have been tapping on trusting myself but I still don’t think I am going to have any support in this crazy plan. I tapped a little bit guilt but that is coming up again so I am sure it is related. I am going to be more specific!
- I shouldn’t need so much to be happy.
- I should be focusing all my attention on helping others.
- You only deserve one or the other.
- People will think I am selfish
- My parents will think I am being irresponsible.
I am going to tap for issues around trusting the universe. This is a base to cover if you are wanting to create anything.
- I am going to have to figure it out alone.
- I am afraid to give up control.
- I don’t want to leave my life up to fate.
Affirmations:
- New ideas and paths are opening up for me.
- I am meeting all of the right people.
- My community loves to support me.
- I have a home.
- I travel
- My business thrives.
- My planet is healing.
EFT for Clarity
After my last post I felt a huge amount of relief. And now I see a lot more to tap on. I cleared being afraid of making the wrong choice, not trusting myself and the truama around a previous bad decision but as often happens with EFT you clear one thing and more aspects rise to the surface.
The next issue that feels like my road block to clarity is either or syndrome. When I look at what I want to create in my life my desires seems to make each other impossible. It might not occur to you to tap on this because, well, we believe our beliefs and this EFT stuff can’t change the truth! or can it…? Just like any other limiting belief an either or belief can be cleared. Here are a few of my either ors that I am clearing:
- I can either travel or be responsible.
- I can either live in New York or start from scratch somewhere else.
- Either I can enjoy warm clear ocean or a can make a big difference in the world.
Along the same lines as the either ors, I also have some underlying fears about each of my choices. This fear keeps any option from being fully attractive and a clear choice. My fear is definitely calling the shots!
- I am afraid that if I leave New York I won’t be able to work in New York…. and I LOVE working here!
- (after that cleared this came up) It will take forever to make my practice strong enough to leave and come back to!
- I am not going to be happy living anywhere that gets cold.
-I can either have a simple sweet life or a chaotic great life.
- Even when I know what I want it will take forever to attain it.
- I am not going to be satisfied living somewhere that doesn’t have lots of people.
- I am not going to be satisfied living in the same place.
- I am not organized enough for this crazy lifestyle!
On top of being afraid I won’t be happy, I also feel guilty that I am not already satisfied with all of the gifts in my life. After tapping for all that, there are still these few limiting beliefs, and fears.
- I can’t live in three different places.
- I can’t live in three different places AND Travel. I won’t feel grounded.
- Where do I put my things?
- Who is going to pay for it?
Wow! I feel a lot clearer. I always like to end my EFT sessions with affirmations. It helps to seal in a possitive view point and clear any last bits of doubt.
- I have adventure and stability.
- I contribute to my community and explore new lands.
- I love where I live.
- My business and my soul are thriving.
- I am grounded and fulfilled.
- This is easy!
Confused EFT
For many months I have been in a state of confusion. I have been seeking guidance on the direction of my career, where I should be living and on graduate schools. I have felt lost and desperate. On the one hand, feeling called to the vibrancy of the city. Reveling in the poignancy of my clients and the opportunity to contribute and provide relief to a city poisoned with stress and anxiety. On the other hand longing to have my toes digging into the soil, to be in warm clean ocean and to feed my soul with all of the pleasures of nature. These two aspects don’t begin to cover the multitude of feelings and influences moving through my energy system. This constant push-pull has tormented me for months… and I haven’t even tapped on it!!!!!?
Tapping on confusion can be a difficult subject. When there isn’t a clear negative and positive its hard to know where to start. It is easy to play the wait and see game and let life make the decisions for you. I was sharing with my dad that I have been praying for divinity to come into my life and take the reigns. He laughed and said “that’s what we all pray for but it doesn’t work like that. You are always responsible for your life”.
So join me in recreated my confusion into a tappable problem. Being specific is incredibly important when doing EFT. You need to focus your energy on one aspect at a time. How do you do this when the issue is one cloudy mess? I’m starting with what is on the surface. The anxiety caused by being unclear, feeling lost, and being afraid of making a choice.
- Adding in how long I have been feeling this way really helps
- I also did some tapping for what I call emotional side dishes, i.e. feeling ashamed of my confusion, fearing I won’t ever be clear, and resistance to dealing with these issues. These aren’t the most significant emotions but they can stand as road blocks to clearing.
- It is common to have deeper insights into the issue as you are tapping. It is easy to follow each insight without completely clearing the first issue. Instead, if something comes up for you write it down and clear the first issue before moving on.
As I am tapping on fear of making the wrong choice, I am remembering when I started feeling lost. It was a year and half ago, after leaving Honolulu to stay in Maui, my heart told me to go back to the Big Island but I didn’t listen. A dear friend that lived on the Big Island died 2 weeks after I got to Maui. Next I am tapping on making a horrible choice, and not trusting myself. Trusting myself is HUGE!!!
Other aspects that came up:
- Betraying my inner light/ my intuition.
- The damage is irreversible.
- The pain of losing my friend and the fear of making choices is tangled. I tapped for:
Even though I still feel this deep sadness, I allow myself to make powerful choices.
- Anger at myself and punishing myself. – with this issue I also tapped for psychological reversal. I had some resistance to letting go of the pain around this issue because it would let me off the hook. Nothing a little love and acceptance doesn’t transform!
- I am going to make another mistake like that.
- I don’t want to move forward, I want to change the past.
I feel less intensity around this issue and a new opening in my energy system so I am going to start reframing and affirming.
- I am allowing the possibility that it wasn’t a mistake, even though I am really sure it was and I will never forgive myself. I am allowing for the possibility that I made the right choice.
- I am listening to my intuition.
- It is easy for me to follow my heart.
- I forgive myself even if I have made mistakes. I forgive myself even if I choose the wrong thing.
- I am on my path.
That is good for now. I feel a huge shift. I don’t feel nearly as confused and I feel willing to look at the choices in front of me. I will definitely keep tapping on this issue!
