Part 1: Personal Trauma Work

8 weeks - up to 4 students

It Starts with You...

Learning the techniques

 

The modalities we use are very simple and quick to learn. The 3 modalities we cover are:

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (AKA tapping)

  • Mindful Focusing

  • Matrix Re-imprinting

Experiential learning

Witness others working through their personal wounds

 

Most of us have patterned responses when another is sharing a story of pain. Maybe we check out maybe we start thinking of all the advice we have, maybe we start relating and thinking and feeling all the similarities between their story and our own. This aspect of learning helps us to stay centered, clear those old responses and learn to come to another as a clear space.

 

It is also an incredible honor and privilege to witness another person’s courage, tenderness and triumph. It is no wonder to me that my students develop a deep love and respect for each other.

1 on 1 sessions with me and other graduates

 

These sessions will help you to disable your internal triggers and give you more resources to bring to sessions. It also serves to give you a felt experience of moving from stable to bringing up an upset all the way to feeling clear. The more you do this the safer and more confident you will become in the process. You will receive sessions in class and as needed throughout the 8 weeks.

Cataloguing and clearing your own trauma

 

This serves three functions:

1. It trains you to become comfortable identifying and setting aside and resolving your own pain points very quickly. This will help you maintain integrity in your sessions even if you do get triggered.

2. It requires that you maintain two perspectives, the perspective of the client and the perspective of the practitioner at the same time. Holding space for yourself without dissociating is much much more challenging than holding space for your client. This builds a proficiency in staying centered and connected at the same time.

3. The practice becomes your own. You do the practices on your own over and over until it becomes your own. You will understand the principles in a way that you feel free and safe to follow your intuition, go off script and be innovative while maintaining alignment.

Part 2: Practitioner Trauma Work

12 weeks - up to 6 students

The next 12 weeks is all about the client...

 

Next Level Techniques:

Experiential Learning

You will get instruction, handouts and demonstrations for each technique. The bulk of the training will be experiential, exploring the real life applications of the techniques through these 4 methods.

  • Witness others working through their personal wounds.

  • Practicing techniques with your fellow students.

  • Receiving practice sessions from your fellow students.

  • Practicing with clients provided.

The techniques you'll practice:

Creating Safety

  • Developing consent and rapport and trust.

  • Starting where they are and honoring coping strategies.

  • The Gentle Techniques, techniques that prevent re-traumatizing while addressing the issue.

  • Backing out of overwhelm and De-escalating moments of crisis.

  • Navigating blame and projections onto you, the practitioner.

Getting to the root

  • Working with dissociation, confusion, brain fog, numbness, memory suppression, avoidance and deflecting.

  • Accessing patience, curiosity and intuition.

  • Discovering hidden causes in body language, word choice and story lines.

Session Structure

 

  • Gathering intake information gently.

  • Designing the journey of a session or series of sessions to guide your client from point A to point B.

  • Staying on track when everything seems urgent and related.

  • Tracking progress and checking your work.

  • Closing sessions gracefully

Using Affirmations

  • Pivoting from strong negatives to general positives.

  • Using humor and exaggerations

  • Provoking use of kind statements

  • Cultivating emotional resources in your clients

  • Use of existential comforts, and supportive personal beliefs systems

Logistics

Schedule

  • Phase 1 and Phase 2 total to 20 weeks.

  • Class meets once per week via zoom for a 90 min call.

  • Trainings run Winter, Spring and Fall.

  • Exact times and days of class are chosen by consensus.

  • Expect 2 hours of homework per week.

Finances

  • Personal Trauma Work $1200.

  • Payments can be made in 1, 2 or 4 installments.

  • Practitioner Trauma Work $1800.

  • Payments can be made in 1, 3 or 6 installments.

  • Scholarships and extended payment plans are offered as needed.
